As of today, Thursday 16th April, Heathrow Airport have begun the process of temporarily moving airlines out of of Terminals 3 and 4, into Terminals 2 or 5. This will allow for the closure of Terminals 3 and 4 during COVID19.

Today, 15th April 2020, Qatar Airways announced that alongside Standard Chartered they have signed a finance deal worth US$ 850 million to cover the purchase of 7 Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
In late 2019, all 7 of these airframes hit the headlines as they were flown from Boeing in Seattle to Doha, only to be flown back to Victorville in California the following day. They remained in Victorville until a couple of weeks ago, and they have now flown back to Doha. A7-BHA returned to Doha on the 2nd April 2020 A7-BHB returned to Doha on the 7th April 2020 A7-BHC returned to Doha on the 23rd March 2020 A7-BHD returned to Doha on the 23rd March 2020 A7-BHE returned to Doha on the 28th March 2020 A7-BHF returned to Doha on the 28th March 2020 A7-BHG returned to Doha on the 2nd April 2020 LATAM cancelled 10 orders with Airbus for the Airbus A350 in March. At a very similar time, an order for the same number of airframes came onto the Airbus order book for an undisclosed airline. This has now been announced that the US based carrier, Delta Airlines will now take delivery of the aircraft. This will bring the total number of A350 orders from Delta to 35.
This order of 10 is suspected to be the A350-900 variant with no orders for the larger -1000 been added to the Airbus order book this year. Last week, British Airways sent 6 of their Airbus A380s to Chateauroux in France for storage due to COVID19. Today, 15th April 2020, G-XLEB and G-XLED joined G-XLEA, G-XLEC, G-XLEF, G-XLEI, G-XLEJ and G-XLEL.
This leaves G-XLEE, G-XLEH and G-XLEK at Heathrow, whilst G-XLEG is currently in Manila for Maintenance. It is suggested that G-XLEG will remain in Manila for storage rather than making the journey across to London or Chateauroux. |
